Awareness seminar organized by planting saplings at Woodland Overseas School.

Viresh Ohri, an esteemed alumnus of Woodland Overseas School and currently serving as SDO in the Punjab Pollution Control Board, conducted an impactful awareness program in the school’s seminar hall. The session focused on the detrimental effects of China Dor and single-use plastic on the environment.
During this enriching session, Mr. Ohri elucidated how these two pollutants have caused significant environmental disruption, highlighting the severe consequences and government penalties for their misuse. He also discussed the latest government measures to combat these issues and stressed the importance of adhering to these regulations. The seminar was followed by a plantation ceremony on the school campus itself.
Among the distinguished guests were the diligent Dean, Dr. Simerjeet Kaur, and the principal, Ms. Puja Dhiman, who showed their support and emphasized the significance of environmental awareness and how Woodland has been the torchbearer for saving the environment since its inception.
Mr. Ohri encouraged students to actively spread awareness within their communities to help preserve the environment. He also shared success stories of community initiatives that have made a positive impact, inspiring students to take proactive steps.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students engaged enthusiastically, reflecting their commitment to environmental conservation.
