Overall Trophy and 1st Position in Jalandhar Sahodaya English Debate Competition
“It is better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it” – Joseph Joubert.
Debate Competition hones the public speaking skills of the students and teaches them to articulate their presuppositions eloquently. Postulating their thoughts and deliberating their opinions on the topic “CAN ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE REPLACE HUMANS”, our fervent and persuasive Woodlanders Srijan Kumar Sharma and Priyansh Arora of Grade XI enamoured and enraptured the jury to notch Overall Trophy and First Prize in Jalandhar Sahodaya English Debate Competition.
The session was a kaleidoscope of opinions, thoughts and perspectives that enhanced the knowledge and understanding of the potential future of human beings. Unsurprisingly, the competition led to a wide spectrum of contrasting views – from being heralded as an inevitable future, to being poorly perceived positivity and doubtful future due to a severe lack of critical infrastructure and technology.
The competition was held on Friday, 16th December 2022, at Shree Hanumat International Public School, Goraya, in which 40 students participated.
Felicitating both the young boys, our exuberant Dean, Dr Simerjeet Kaur articulated that competitions like these help the students to think critically and gain unparalleled knowledge. She congratulated the Woodlanders for possessing great oratory skills and marking their presence with their emphatic arguments with righteous facial expressions and voice modulation.
Congratulations to the Promising Orators!!
