Woodland Overseas School’s Baisakhi Celebration was a true spectacle of Punjab’s vibrant culture and traditions. The campus radiated with excitement as students, adorned in stunning traditional Punjabi attire, came together to celebrate the harvest festival on a beautiful Friday, April 12th,2024. The air was filled with vibrant colours and lively music, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience.

The festivities commenced with energetic performances of bhangra and gidda, traditional Punjabi dance forms that showcased the dancers’ skill and passion. With infectious beats and graceful movements, the dancers enthralled the audience, who could not help but join in with rhythmic claps and cheers. The celebration also included the enchanting melodies of old folk Punjabi boliyan, taking everyone on a journey through love, life, and celebration.

Beyond the performances, the event offered a deeper understanding of Punjabi culture through exhibitions of traditional artifacts and household items. Handcrafted utensils and intricately embroidered textiles were proudly displayed, providing insights into the daily lives and customs of the people of Punjab.
