An important and timely session was recently held with the students of Woodlanders, addressing the critical issue of safety in light of the recent rape case in Kolkata. The discussion was conducted in a sensitive yet informative manner, ensuring that the children were aware of the gravity of the situation while empowering them with knowledge and tools for self-protection.

The facilitators introduced various helpline numbers, including child protection and women’s safety hotlines, emphasizing their importance in emergencies.

Additionally, the session focused on practical tips and strategies that the children could use to protect themselves in dangerous situations, such as:

  • Identifying safe spaces
  • Being aware of their surroundings
  • Understanding the importance of seeking help from trusted adults

A flag march was also organized in the school to create awareness amongst all.
