Woodland Overseas School Takes the Green Message to Village Satuar:SAY NO TO SINGLE USE PLASTIC !

Woodland Overseas

As part of its community outreach initiative **“Say No to Single-Use Plastic,” Woodland Overseas School extended its green mission to the neighbouring village of Satuar inspiring the community to embrace more sustainable practices.

The initiative began with an engaging Nukkad Natak, through which residents were sensitised to the harmful environmental impact of single-use plastic and the importance of making responsible choices.

The awareness drive was then taken to local vendors and shopkeepers, who were provided with paper bags and encouraged to opt for eco-friendly alternatives instead of plastic bags. Taking the campaign a step further, students and school representatives went door-to-door, engaging residents in one-to-one conversations about reducing plastic consumption. Single-use plastic collected from households was gathered for responsible recycling through authorised dealers, while residents were provided reusable jute bags as a sustainable alternative.

The residents warmly welcomed the initiative and expressed their appreciation to Woodland Overseas School for bringing environmental awareness to their doorstep. Many pledged to refrain from using single-use plastic and adopt more sustainable alternatives in their daily lives.

Through this meaningful community service initiative, Woodland Overseas School reaffirmed that real change begins with awareness and grows through collective action—one household, one shop and one conscious choice at a time.
